Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church and School is pleased to announce the naming of Mrs. Ashley Brown, currently the school’s curriculum coordinator, as interim principal for the 2019-2020 academic year.
“We are thrilled that Mrs. Brown has agreed to serve as interim principal,” said Father Dan O’Connor, pastor of OLPS. “She has brought us a wealth of experience as an educator on all levels. She has gotten to know our faculty and has helped enhance our teachers’ classroom strategies and influence.”
Mrs. Brown is in her twenty-seventh year in education. She began at OLPS in August 2018. She came with 19 years’ teaching experience and seven years’ experience at the administrative level.
Her administrative roles include Instructional Facilitator, Assistant Principal and the Elementary Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction for the Rapides Parish School District.
She is a graduate of Holy Savior Menard High School. She holds the B.S. from Louisiana State University with emphasis in Elementary Education grades 1-8, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Northwestern State University.
Mrs. Jessica Lemoine will continue as Assistant Principal. The necessity of naming Mrs. Brown happened through the declination of Mrs. Debra Fountain of the principalship after she was hired to begin July 1 upon the retirement of Mrs. Jo Tassin.
The principal search committee plans to meet shortly after Easter to open a new search for a permanent principal, perhaps as early as this summer.
