Our Lady of Prompt Succor has two resource teachers in our faculty in addition to the Title 1 program teacher. Mrs. Sandy Riche and Mrs. Mary Jo Broussard are certified teachers who are focusing on helping our students with any difficulties they might be having in Reading and/or Math.
Our resource teachers work with the students' teachers to collaborate to ensure our students needs are meet. Olinger Hall was completely remodeled into 4 resource rooms during the summer of 2018. Our new resource classrooms contain computers, books, reference books and other educational aids used with students who need individual and/or small group instruction.
The Title 1 Program provides services for targeted assisted students at Our Lady of Prompt Succor School in the area of Reading. Our Title I teacher, Mrs. Bonnie Gremillion, is a former 2nd Grade teacher at OLPS.
The Title I teacher and the regular classroom teacher coordinate efforts to maximize the educational experiences of the Title I students. Hands-on activities, computer programs, and basal materials are used to enhance learning. Small group and individualized instruction are employed to re-teach specific skills identified on unit reading/math tests. The academic progress of the students receiving Title I services is measured by a combination of assessment instruments to accurately reflect the progress of the students.
