Academic Resources

OLPS utilizes a multitude of resources to ensure we are meeting the needs of all of our students. Below you will find some of the resources we use.

IXL is a personalized learning platform that is proven to improve learning outcomes for all students. IXL’s Real-Time Diagnostic, helps to determine students’ strengths and weaknesses and develops an individual path of learning for each child.  Teachers can also use this resource to reinforce content that is taught in the classroom.

Zearn is a math digital resource that unites hands-on instruction and immersive digital learning.  Zearn is aligned to Eureka Math, our math curriculum in 1st - 6th grade.

Renaissance Learning is designed to motivate students.  Students are assessed through the STAR reading and math assessment to determine students' strengths and weaknesses.  Teachers use this data to impact their instruction.

Renaissance learning is also used to motivate students to read.  Studies show that students who read for more than 15 minutes daily scored higher on standardized tests.  Accelerated Reading, a branch of Renaissance Learning, promotes this reading by students reaching goals every nine weeks.

Title One

The Title 1 Program provides services for targeted assisted students at Our Lady of Prompt Succor School in the area of Reading. Our Title I teacher, Mrs. Bonnie Gremillion, is a former 2nd Grade teacher at OLPS.
The Title I teacher and the regular classroom teacher coordinate efforts to maximize the educational experiences of the Title I students. Hands-on activities, computer programs, and basal materials are used to enhance learning. Small group and individualized instruction are employed to re-teach specific skills identified on unit reading/math tests. The academic progress of the students receiving Title I services is measured by a combination of assessment instruments to accurately reflect the progress of the students.
