Parent Organizations

Home and School Association

The Home and School Association is a parent led organization that promotes and maintains parental interest and involvement in the school. It also provides a vehicle for communication and community building between parents and the administration, faculty, and staff. Home and School also facilitates fundraising and social activities that are beneficial to the school.

ALL PARENTS AND GUARDIANS OF OLPS STUDENTS are members of the Home and School Association. We welcome all to join in on the fellowship and FUNdraising!

School Council

The School Council is a volunteer organization formed to connect and collaborate with the OLPS Pastoral and Finance Councils. It serves as an advisory body to the pastor and principal. According to its bylaws, “The purpose of the School Council shall be to provide policy direction for the educational programs of the school,
to promote the implementation of said policies, and to ensure that all local policies are in accord with the intent and spirit of the policies established for the school system by the Diocese of Alexandria. The School Council assists in long-range planning.”


The School Council meets quarterly from September to May. Any registered member of Prompt Succor Parish and/or parent/guardian of an OLPS student may submit an application and be elected or appointed to the School Council to serve a three-year term.  Elections to fill the vacancy will be held in April by a vote of families whose children are students at OLPS School.
